A Personal Approach to Ownership

Work directly with the future operator. Owners and brokers work directly with Matt Weiss, the future operator, from the first conversation through diligence and transition planning.

Build on the owner’s legacy. Our approach is to learn from the seller, support the team, and preserve the customer relationships and operating strengths that made the business successful.

Bring leadership and transaction experience. Matt co-founded and led a manufacturing technology company, served as a Marine Corps Intelligence Officer, and worked in defense-technology M&A. He holds a B.S. and MBA from Wharton.

Writing on service and leadership. Matt is the author of We Don’t Want You, Uncle Sam: Examining the Military Recruiting Crisis with Generation Z, exploring how institutions can better understand and engage the next generation.

Family roots. Personal leadership. Lasting ownership.

Family roots. A legacy of building.

  • From a single car to a New York legacy

Our family’s founding legacy begins with Michael Marks. His first job was delivering milk by horse and buggy. As automobiles began changing New York, he took classes at a local YMCA to become a certified driver and started with a basic car.

Recognizing that cars needed somewhere to park, Michael opened a small garage in the heart of Manhattan. He brought his four brothers into the business and built a taxi-cab and medallion operation that grew into a substantial New York City real estate enterprise.

The business became a multigenerational family endeavor. Matt’s grandfather later took the reins and ran it for more than 50 years. That history of hands-on work, adapting to change, and building across generations continues to shape Bliss Enterprises today.

  • Real estate experience in practice

Peter Weiss. Peter has worked in New York City real estate for over 40 years, including as an executive at a real estate management company owning and operating a diverse portfolio of assets. His experience spans residential apartment buildings, commercial offices, shopping centers, cooperatives, condominiums, and industrial properties, with hands-on work across acquisitions, asset management, construction, and renovation.

The Myles. One of our family’s real estate developments, The Myles is a boutique condominium building in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, developed by Grid Group.

    Sani-Matic sale-leaseback. Our family’s involvement with Sani-Matic is through a sale-leaseback real estate partnership.

This experience informs the long-term ownership perspective behind our search for an operating business.

The right fit. A thoughtful transition.

  • The businesses that interest us most

Recurring or repeat service, durable or mission-critical demand, and room to grow in fragmented industries. We value licensing, regulatory, and route-density advantages, manageable capex, and a team that can operate beyond the departing owner.

  • Owners & brokers: let’s start a conversation

Considering a transition, representing a seller, or aware of an off-market opportunity? Send a short introduction or anonymized teaser with the business type, location, earnings, and owner’s goals. We welcome the opportunity to explore a fit.
